Abstract
This paper presents a GSM-based home automation and integrated emergency response system designed to enhance domestic safety and remote operability of household appliances. The proposed system incorporates a microcontroller, sensor suite, and GSM communication module to facilitate SMS‑based control and hazard notifications. The work addresses limitations in manual operation, delayed emergency response, and lack of accessibility in conventional home systems. A priority‑based control mechanism ensures that emergency events override routine commands, enabling rapid appliance shutdown and immediate user alerts. Experimental evaluation indicates reliable switching operation, fast alert generation, and consistent system response. The results demonstrate the practicality of a low‑cost, scalable solution suitable for modern residential environments.
