INFORMATION
With the establishment of the institution in August 2009, the Department of First Year Engineering was set up. It offers introductory courses such as Engineering Chemistry, Engineering Physics, Applied Mathematics and Professional Communication & Ethics. With experienced faculty members actively seeking professional development through seminars, FDPs, and refresher courses, the department serves as a foundation for all engineering specialties. This department plays a crucial role, featuring advanced labs and leading curricular and extracurricular activities. It fosters innovation and collaboration, building a strong base for all engineering fields.
OBJECTIVES
Prospective engineering students' overall development is a priority for the First Year department. We offer direction and assistance to guarantee a seamless college transition and a prosperous engineering career. We improve cognitive talents and problem-solving skills through individualized counseling and a nurturing environment, enabling students to succeed both academically and professionally and preparing them to meet the demands of the engineering profession as well-rounded persons.
INDUCTION PROGRAM
The purpose of VIVA Institute of Technology's first-year engineering students' induction program is to familiarize them with the intellectual and social environment of the institution. Students are introduced to the framework of their chosen degree, the guidelines of the institute, and an array of engineering careers. In addition to strengthening the institution's ethical standards and promoting responsible engagement in their academic endeavors, the program fosters diversified thinking and adaptation by facilitating the transition from school to the demands of engineering study.
